September 2019 Newsletter
As we are entering the Campaign period and moving forward to the election, I’d like to remind all of us of a couple of very important items. All of us run across others that we will disagree with and have differing opinions with. The thing we want to remember is to always be courteous to anyone we are in opposition with. It’s easy when we agree with them but the hard part is to stay friendly and kind in these conversations. It’s always good to put our best foot forward instead of letting our anger take over.
HCRP is looking for more Precinct Chairs. This is how you can be part of that group. Any Republican voter can run for precinct chair in the Republican primary as long as he or she is a registered voter residing in that precinct. Filing for precinct chair begins September 10.
Don’t sit this election out on the sidelines, get busy and get our candidates elected. We had a great Houston City Council Forum last week with a great turnout. Feedback said they learned so much and what to consider about who will be running City Hall. A big thank you to Rajada Fleming, Deanna Harrington, Theresa Kosmoski, and Julie Jaehne for making it such a success.
September 25 will be our Mayoral Forum with candidates for Mayor engaging in a planned question and answer event with Bob Price, Moderator. You will learn about who is running for Mayor and who is the best candidate that matches up with your opinions. Don’t miss this great meeting!
October 23 we will host Rep Jim Murphy to give us the correct meaning of the propositions that will be on the Ballet November 5.
Then November 20 will be our meeting celebrating Veterans Day with speaker Justice Ken Wise. We will also take up Debit Cards to donate to Camp Hope PTSD Foundation. This made a real difference to them when we did it last year.
Soon you will be receiving a Save the Date for our Christmas Party on December 8, 2019. Don’t forget to mark your calendar way ahead so you can attend.
No time to waste if we want to win big in this election, support your choice of candidate and get educated and informed at our fall line-up of meetings.
