As we approach the end of 2015 we also approach the end of my term as your President. It has been a delight and an honor to serve you, and I thank you for the opportunity.

We’ve had some incredible programs over the last two years, especially the many forums that we’ve pulled together so that you would have an “up close and personal” chance to meet and learn about the candidates. At least we know that most of them are smart enough to understand the incredible political influence that our members wield in Houston.

You do incredible work for our candidates and our causes. The members of Village RW are phenomenal.

So much so that the club was awarded the highest level John Goodwin Tower Award of Excellence from the Texas Federation of Republican Women at the annual convention this month. Representative Jim Murphy (District 133) sent along the following note:

                   “Dear Village RWC: Your hard work has been duly noticed and awarded. Congratulations to each of you for your accomplishments and to TFRW for its continued push for excellence and for recognizing a VERY deserving chapter.”

We’ve also had lots of time to spend together having fun…..such as the watch party at the Westside Victory Center, our Christmas party last year, and our CHATS.

We have our major fundraiser of the year on November 20^th. You’ve gotten lots of emails on the subject and if you haven’t already purchased your ticket, now is the time. It will be massive fun, and the proceeds make it possible for us to help Republicans get elected. I hope to see each of you there.

Thank you, again, for allowing me to serve you these past two years. It has been many things, but especially fun and never dull. As I transition into my next role, I know that Village is very capable hands with the newly elected officers. Buffie Ingersoll will do her usual (read: fabulous) best and we will all be the better for it.
