It is summertime and everything is heating up…..not just the weather! We finally have all that precinct
and senate convention confusion behind us. I, for one, am really looking forward to the Republican Party of Texas Convention to be held in Ft. Worth, June 7 – 9. We have a large group from VRW going as delegates, alternates and just plain patriots. We have two tables reserved for VRW at the Tribute To Women Banquet. Victory Requires Women…and they are going to hear from us! Paul Ryan and Rick Santorum are just two of the speakers announced so far……..You should come with us!

I am also happy the party can now unite under one candidate for President. It is shocking and frightening to me that the polls are so close. For that reason, the board decided to continue our activities through the summer instead of taking three months off as the club has in the past. We cannot afford to sit back on our laurels…no matter how hot it is!

We have a fun and exciting summer planned with an evening Senate Candidate Forum, if there is a runoff, in June, A CHAT, happy hour in July, participation in the Villages Independence Day Parade and Festival, and a grand opening of the new Campaign headquarters in August. Then just two months to get the job done and Move Obama out of our White House and Turn Houston Red!

You won’t want to miss the May meeting. The board will be recommending a disbursement to candidate campaigns for the November elections. The members will vote on that as well as changes in two standing rules. We will also elect four club members to be on the Campaign Funds Disbursement Committee. These four, along with Nancy Scott, Treasurer, Jennifer Naedler, past Ways and Means Chair, and myself, President, will submit to the club in September recommendations on the campaign funds disbursement. The members will vote in September.

The longest primary season in Texas history will wrap up on May 29. Early voting dates and locations are listed below. I am sure there will be run-off elections in July.

PLEASE GO VOTE….Victory Requires Women…….YOU!
