January 2014 Newsletter
Welcome to 2014; new year, fresh start. However I cannot begin this year without taking a moment to express my greatest appreciation and admiration for the phenomenal work that was done over the last two years by all of the officers and chairwomen of our club. The women of Village have done an incredible job during some of the most politically trying times ever and, perhaps most importantly, have left many a lasting legacy.
None more so than our immediate Past President, Buffie Ingersoll. Over the last two years she has done an incredible job leading our club; often taking it to new and visionary places. I am profoundly grateful for all that she has done and will continue to do for our club and for Republican causes.
Let me just say it now: I would trip if I tried to step into the enormously tall stilettos that Buffie left to fill. I am honored by your confidence in me; I will do my best not to let you down. I realize how very lucky I am, and our club is, to have the amazing and talented women who have stepped up as officers and chairwomen. They, along with all of our members, will make it possible to continue to move forward in our mission to be the best RW club in Texas and the most influential force in getting Republicans, especially Republican WOMEN, elected in and from Texas.
We are only 5 or so weeks from the start of early voting for the spring primary election, and a mere 7 weeks from Election Day. I hope that every member of our club has learned as much as she can about all of the candidates, made an informed decision and is out there supporting and working for her candidate.
Our next two programs are sure to help you make an informed choice: this month our program is a forum for the candidates running for Railroad Commissioner. Next month we will feature the candidates running for Attorney General.
Get informed; get involved. That is how we make a difference.
