Dr. Duncan Klussmann to Speak at September Meeting

Featured

Duncan KlussmannWe hear a lot about education; especially in the political realm.  There are constant calls for education reform, increased public school funding, more or less student testing, greater school safety measures…  So, what is really going on in America’s schools?  Our September speaker, Dr. Duncan Klussmann may have some of the answers.

Duncan Klussmann has been the superintendent of schools for the Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) since December of 2004.  Prior to that appointment, Dr. Klussmann served as an interim superintendent and area superintendent for SBISD.  However, his real training came “in the trenches,” as a school principle, assistant principle and classroom teacher.

While Dr. Klussmann was principal, the United States Department of Education awarded Spring Branch Middle School the Blue Ribbon as a National Exemplary School. In 1998 Dr. Klussmann was awarded The Lifetime Member Award by the Texas Parent and Teacher Association and in 2004 he received the Hewlett-Packard Fellow in Executive Leadership Award.

Speaking on the topic, “Education and Public Policy in Texas,” please join us for an informative look at the convergence of political will and educational goals.  See you on September 25th!
