This month we are celebrating 60 years of Village. In his inaugural address on January 20, 1961, President Kennedy famously called on Americans to “Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country.” Clearly, our founding VRW members were listening and responding. A group of ladies, including our first VRW President Gerry Hardway, established an enduring and effective organization that continues to thrive and grow.

A Series of Unprecedented Events
Well, folks, we’ve now almost made it through the immediate ramifications of an extended arctic freeze. As we learned at our February general meeting, some of our members are still working on repairs—especially broken pipes—in their homes. It’s time to get back to spreading the good news about our conservative Republican ideals. The past year was awful for a lot of people, and no one would blame you if you find it hard to break out of your heartbroken 2020 funk. That said, the time has come to light a candle rather than to curse the darkness. We can share our ideals and our love of country with joy in our hearts.

I’ll start with some good news—The year 2020 is coming to its end. Thank God! 2020 has been a year like no other. Despite how bad it has been, there were good things about 2020. There were things we can be thankful for and celebrate.

November is the month of elections, Veteran’s Day, and Thanksgiving. Times are tough, no doubt. Let me tell you something, though. I am grateful.
I am grateful that in our wonderful country, we Americans have the right to exercise our vote and choose our future. This year, unlike any other year, the choice is crystal clear. We Republicans know that. The most critical component for us Republicans is to GOTV! The outcome of the election all the way from the top of the ballot to the bottom will be completely turn-out driven.
