May Meeting – State & Local Education
We are pleased to have Donna Bahorich, State Board of Education Chair and Dr. Scott Muri, Superintendent of Schools, Spring Branch ISD as our guest speakers for the May meeting.
Donna was appointed as chair of the State Board of Education in July 2015. She is committed to preparing all children to be productive, engaged citizens. She has worked diligently to approve and promote college and career ready courses, including strong career and technical education courses, leading to increased opportunities for students after high school. Bahorich is passionate about approving effective public charter schools and bring more choices to students.
Scott R. Muri became the Superintendent of Schools in Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) on July 1, 2015. He believes that every child is an individual learner and that the teacher-student equation is most effective when learning is tied to the unique needs of every child. Dr. Muri also strongly believes in the importance of a great teacher in every classroom and a great principal leading every school.
